Workshops Ierse Dans

It’s time to Irish dance during Keltfest!

Just as last year, Rose Irish Dance School will provide 2 energetic Irish dancing workshops on Sunday May 24th.

The morning workshop will be suitable for all levels, which means that there is no dancing experience necessary! Step by step, teacher Rosalie Wagenaar will guide you through the joy of Irish jigs and reels, and before you know it, you will be able to dance like a true Lord of the Dance.

In the evening workshop, we will take the basic steps a little bit further. You will learn more technical aspects of the basic steps of Irish dance and how to execute the movements correctly. This workshop is therefore really suitable for all the dance lovers on Keltfest! After the technical part, we will use the knowledge to do some Irish céilí dances, which are really fun to do!

Both workshops will be accompanied live on accordion by the fabulous musician Erik de Jong.

The workshops will be led by Rosalie Wagenaar, who is a dancer in the theatre shows of Rapalje almost 15 years, and a certified Irish dance teacher in her own established school ‘Rose Irish Dance School’. She has done some big performances with her dancing school which you may have seen or heard of. They danced on national television in the big comedy show of Jandino Asporaat and Najib Amhali, ‘Comedy & Concert’ in De Kuip in Rotterdam (RTL4), the National Tattoo in Ahoy (NPO1), and they participated in the SBS6 program ‘Circus Gerschtanowitz’, where they won a tapdance battle. They participated in ‘The Battle’ together with Irish dancers from Belgium (RTL4), which was broadcast last January. Rosalie has a big passion for Irish dance, and hopes that she will see you during her workshops at Keltfest!
